Meeting by Zoom on June 28

Dear Thay, dear Sangha, dear friends,

If we are peaceful, if we are happy, we can smile and blossom like a flower, and everyone in our family, our entire society, will benefit from our peace. — Thay

Please join the Rainbow Sangha this coming Sunday on Zoom from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m.

We are fortunate to have Vanessa leading on the topic of “Taking Refuge in the Present: Using Mindfulness to Cope with COVID19”. The Covid-19 pandemic has disrupted all our lives and caused anxiety for many. Vanessa will talk about how to use our core practice of mindfulness of the present moment to maintain equanimity.

For information on how to join the Zoom meeting, please contact any member of the Sangha.

We will be making a decision week by week whether to meet by Zoom or in person, depending on such factors as the preferences of the leader, the weather, and the wishes of the Sangha. If you are on our mailing list we will keep you informed via these weekly e-mails.

Looking forward to seeing you there,
With metta,
Jon

In-person meeting at AZC June 21, with precautions

Dear Thay, dear Sangha, dear Friends,

If you love someone, the greatest gift you can give them is your presence. — Thay

Please join us this Sunday from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. for an in-person meeting outdoors on the grounds of the Albuquerque Zen Center (AZC), 2300 Garfield Ave. SE.

As antiviral precautions we will be wearing masks, maintaining distance, using hand sanitizer, and wiping down surfaces. We will have one bathroom available for use, with suitable precautions that will be described at the meeting.

We are fortunate to have Bryson leading us. There will be a 20-minute seated meditation, possibly some walking meditation, and she will give a dharma talk on Thay’s explanation of the First Mindfulness Training (reverence for life) from his book For a Future to be Possible. This will be followed by dharma sharing. I hope to see you there!
